Yoo Eui Jeong's work begins by collecting interesting facets and stories within the long-standing trajectory of ceramic art. He then extracts valid theories that still function today, and colors them "today."

Ceramics not only reflect the ideologies, aesthetic sense, life, and trends of the times, but they also serve as a way for us to understand world history. Most artworks take on the forms of ceramic works that submit to traditional formal theory. However, they sometimes bear the signs and symbols that represent contemporary cultural codes to capture and record today's times.

Just as the 19th-century flâneur observed the rapidly changing urban landscape, Yoo walks through the history of ceramics, collecting fragments of time. He questions, "What is ceramics?" and discovers the potential of clay to bridge the gap between ancient relics and contemporary reality. His work acts as a time capsule, trapping the desires of the 21st century within the form of a 12th-century vessel.
